Some USD500 million worth carpets will be exported by March 20, 2010.

CHTN- ''based on the statistics available on carpet exports, just in the last two months, carpets with a total value of USD56 million were exported,'' said Head of Iran National Carpet Center Feysal Mordai.

The bulk of exports within the two-month period is not satisfactory because national carpet production capacity is well above the current figure, he noted.

Iranian carpets are usually marketed in Italy, Germany, the UK, France, Spain, Switzerland, the US and Canada as well as the UAE, Kuwait, Russia, Ukraine and Japan, he stressed.
