Kashmar Kashmar is one of the cities of Khorasan Razavi Province in the southwest of the province, it consists of two parts: Markazi(Central) and Kuhsorkh, it is about 3390 sq km and its center is Kashmar town. This city is limited to Khalilabad from west, to Neyshabour, Sabzevar and Bardeskan from north and northwest, to Torbat-Heydarieh from east and northeast and to Gonabad from south and southwest. There are two different areas in Kashmar; Kuhsorkh mountainous area in the north and Faghan heights of Bajestan in the south, the other part is dry area in the west and the south, and a fertile plain near the suburb and boroughs. The climate of this region is dry and semi-dry. A part of this city was separated which is known as Bardeskan in 1374 and another part was separated by the name of Khalilabad in 1382. Kashmar was known as "Torshiz" in ancient times. According to the archeologists' researches, this region has been inhabited since1000 or 2000 years B.C.
