Torbat-jam Torbat Jam is 8184Sq km which is located in the east of Khorasan. This city is limited to Mashhad from the north, to Harirrud River from the east, to Afghanistan and Taybad from the south and to Torbat-Heydarieh and Fariman from the west. The altitude of this area is 938 km from the sea level. The distance of Torbat Jam from Afghanistan border is 66 km. The capital of this city is Torbat Jam and according to the last country divisions, this city consists of 3 districts: central, Salehabad, Nasrabad, and 10 villages. The ecological condition is mountainous in the north and Shahneshin Mountain rages are famous in the north and Bakharz and Bezd in the south and the west. ShahneshinMountains with about 2080 m height and 48 kilometers width is situated as a natural phenomenon along northeast and southeast between Torbat-Jam and Janatabad. This area has natural pistachio forests and has the most water among the other mountains of Torbat-Jam.
