Regarding the economic conditions, Khorasan Razavi is one of the most important provinces of the country, because of the existence of many mines and production units, factories and workshops in different industrial branches. There are many industries for using throughout the country and for exporting to other countries such as foodstuffs, textile, clothing, tanning, paper- manufacturing, oil and chemical products, rubber and plastic, minerals, furniture and wooden industries, medical equipments, foundry, metal industries, electric and electronic industries, telecommunication and transportation industries. Among all cities of this province, Mashhad with 1586 large production units is in the first place in the province after that, Neyshabour with 146 units, Sabzevar with 118 units and Gonabad with 80 units, Torbat-jam and Quchan with 38 units and Torbat-heydarieh with 35 units are at the next places.
