Geographical situation
Khorasan Razavi is located in the northeast of Iran. This province with 127/600 sq/kilometers area includes 7/7 percent of Iran's area and is located between 34 to 38 degrees north latitude and 57 to 61 degrees east longitude. Khorasan Razavi has 531/6 kilometers common border with Turkmenistan and 302 kilometers common border with Afghanistan and is bound to Southern Khorasan from the south and to Northern Khorasan from the northwest and to Semnan and Yazd province from the west. Khorasan Razavi province in comparison with Northern Khorasan and southern Khorasan has better economical and social situation.This province is considered as a center of economical and cultural relations among the neighbor countries and the frontier cities of Iran such as Dugharun in the border of Afghanistan and Lotfabad and Bajgiran in the border of Turkmenistan can be a main channel for wide range of trade relations between this province and two countries.
